It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has achieved everything.

It needed until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their hitters to maintain a record if never given the chance.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to produce her latest masterpiece.

If this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Many contend the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this knock followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in the nets, it was a challenging time because it appeared my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from there the right-hander was on her way.

"A chance to play and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed her side needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the assurance to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we know we can achieve it."

These statements will be the last rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this success following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.
